Sr. Farm Management Support Advisor

Organizational context: 

Responsible for the development and execution of Farm Management Support services, ways of working, tooling/applications, compliance, training and alignment of processes in the Regions to evaluate and elevate the overall performance of our Lely Center partners.  The ‘what and when’ is led by the Regional Development Manager within the region.   Spends 80% of time in multi-disciplinary regional team, which includes Area Sales Managers, Regional Service, Milk Quality, and Marketing specialists.

Summary:

The Sr. Farm Management Support (FMS) Advisor will work within the Regional Team taking the What/When direction from the Regional Development Manager to develop, train, coach and advise Lely Center (LC) Dealers and their stakeholders by providing farm, herd, people, and equipment management consultative services to optimize financial well-being and satisfaction of the end-user. The Sr. FMS Advisor will coach and consult the LC on the delivery and execution of professional farm management products and services.  This position requires travel approximately 50-60% of the year domestically and/or internationally via car or plane and some activities may require non-regular working hours for dealer visits and events.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Training and support for Lely Centers – Provide comprehensive training and support for Lely Centers on the use of Lely products and best management practices, facilitating the transition of farmers from traditional to robotic milking and feeding processes.
  • Collaboration and Evaluation of Robot Farms – Essential collaboration with Lely Centers to evaluate robot farms, analysis of barn conditions, herd data, milking and feeding practices conducted to create actionable plans aligned with producer’s goals.
  • Education and networking in the industry – Use the position to emphasize the importance of education industry partners about effective practices, as well as networking with academic institutions to foster independent research, while also managing training sessions and events for stakeholders.
  • Support – extends across the full Lely portfolio, including Milking, Feeding, Manure, and Digital Services.
  • Regular progress reports – on Lely Centers and robotic farms provided to Lely North America.
  • Collaboration – with FMS Manager, Regional Development Manager, and Business Teams to help tailor content for regional farm management and sales strategies.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in Dairy Science, Agribusiness, or Veterinarian Medicine.  Experienced as dairy consultant in North America and experienced working with robotic dairy operations.  Documented experience as a trainer/consultant/advisor in dairy practices.

  • Knowledgeable in finance management related to dairy farm operations and comfortable working with large herd management approaches. Strong dairy husbandry skills encompassing a wide range of areas including milking technology,  nutrition, reproduction, and records analysis.
  • Proactive approach to business, demonstrating an ability to enhance efficiency and provide valuable presentations to stakeholders.
